Today I had the experience of being photographed by a professional photographer.  I woke up this morning feeling nothing less than beautiful.  My faithful friend/soRhor/sister accompanied on my first professional photo shoot and I tell you, if it were not for her, I may have been lost.  Of course we picked out the outfits, shoes, and accessories I would wear last night.  My hair, a twist-out using Jane Carter’s Solution Nourish and Shine and Moisture Butter by Beautiful Textures.  I just thought I would share a few things with you about going on a photo shoot:
1.       Take attire and shoes that can be worn indoors/outdoors and be comfortable in. Check the weather ;)
2.       Accessorize; taking too many accessories may leave you overwhelmed and undecided about what to wear with what. Take only those pieces you will wear with your outfit and maybe 1-2 extra.
3.       Keep “bling” to a minimum. Too much gold or silver may produce a glare that actually takes away from the quality of the picture. Instead opt for colors that “pop” within your outfits and shoes.
4.       Make-up. While some people may want their natural beauty to do what it does, there are types of make-up available that actually enhances, without overdoing, your natural beauty. (Less is more).
5.       Whatever outfits you take, make sure it will be okay to mix and match and don’t be afraid of color.
These are just a few tips from me.

Be breezy people and live everyday as if it is your last because Y.O.L.O.!!!

Thinking of a Master Plan

I am quite sure most of you have heard the song "Paid In Full" by Eric B. & Rakim.  The opening line in this song is "Thinking of a master plan..."  This line carries a lot of weight with a person who is striving for wealth and success.  Other things may be included, but as soon as you hear this song you start thinking of ways to get some "dead presidents." When thinking of your master plan, don't get discouraged because you do not have some of the luxuries that a person the same as you are may have. Don't get distracted so much that you forget what is right and what is wrong along your path to success.  Put in the long hours of the thinking process. Nurse your dreams from the moment they enter your mind until the moment you start to see them unfold. You can choose to be your own biggest hurdle or you can choose to move those hurdles out of your way and push forward. The moment you stop dreaming is the moment you come to a standstill.  The one thing that we all know is that God is a constant. HE is the Master Planner. Not Mead, Cambridge, or any other physical planner you can buy. Get with HIM and show HIM your blueprint and watch what happens. In the meanwhile, keep thinking....

Be Blessed!!!

"Love Is Not Blind!"

Valentine's Day originated in Rome as a tribute to St. Valentine who was the Catholic Bishop in 5th Century Rome.

In February of every year, the Romans would allow men to draw the names of teenage girls in the same way that numbers are drawn in a lottery.  Whatever young lady's name the men would draw would be his sex companion for the year, or until the next drawing. This was a rite of passage for the young men to the god Lupercus.

Emperor Claudius did not think that married men would make good soldiers so he banned marriage all together.  This is when Valentine stepped in!

Valentine would secretly marry young couples that came to him in love. Claudius did not like this and sentenced Valentine to jail and eventually death by beheading.  While in jail, Valentine fell in love with the jailer's daughter who was blind.  It is said that Valentine's love for the girl healed her blindness.

The next time someone tells you that love is blind stop them. Tell them that their views of love may leave them with shades over their eyes in an attempt to protect their heart.  When you love someone openly and freely your eyes are opened to a variety of things. Tell your Valentine today that you love them but know in your heart and soul that you truly do. And don't let anyone elses views on love affect your Valentine's Day. Today nor in the Valentine's Days to come!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!

Start your day right!

Start your day right today! Wake up with a praise in your heart and on your mind! Do something different today. Often times we let the pressures of everyday life get us down. Despite what is going on in your life and around you, choose to be happy; choose to have joy; choose to smile regardless. You will feel good and you will make someone's day even brighter. Just try it. You will be impressed with the results! Live, Laugh, Love ~Sarahi~

Whitney Houston

I can remember dancing to Whitney's song "I Wanna Dance (with somebody). I could not wait to get home and watch the video that we had recorded on VHS (yes I said VHS) back in the 80's. My heart is really heavy right now. R.I.P. Whitney Houston
